Countywide - proposed Electric Vehicle charging only parking spaces

Oxfordshire Liveable Streets has submitted its response to the county's consultation on proposed EV charging parking spaces (July 26). While supporting the expansion of EV charging as key to sustainable transport, OLS objects to how most schemes are being brought forward: chargers are proposed on footways rather than carriageways, often narrowing walking space below recommended minimums, with no cycle parking provision and no overarching kerbside strategy. OLS is calling for the decision to be deferred so officers can bring back layouts that keep infrastructure on the carriageway, and for future kerbside allocation to follow a proper strategy.
